The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) awarded $16,155,550 to the City of West Memphis, Arkansas to restore hundreds of acres of Mississippi River floodplain with wetlands and riparian forest atDucks Unlimited Park at Big River Crossing. The park is a 1,500-acre project led by Big River Park Conservancy and Ducks Unlimited (DU).

Those looking for more trails or a destination after crossing into Arkansas will have a new park to visit, Ducks Unlimited Park, nestled to the north on the shore of the Mississippi, a work in progress.

The prominent wetland conservation organization Ducks Unlimited will lead strategic efforts to preserve and enhance 1,500 acres of floodplains directly across from Downtown Memphis.
